Managing Partner – Employment Lawyer (Plaintiff’s Side)

HKM Employment Attorneys LLP is a growing law firm with offices in Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Kansas City, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Denver. We intend to open an office in Minneapolis, and we have an immediate opening for the Managing Partner of the Minneapolis office.

We fight for the rights of employees in cutting edge employment law cases across the United States and for the rights of consumers in complex multi-state class actions. We seek a dynamic individual who brings an attitude of success to their work, who shares our passion for the important cases that we file, and who enjoys being a lawyer and wants to work with colleagues who are having fun in an upbeat work environment. You can find out more about our firm at www.hkm.com.

We offer a competitive base salary, bonuses, benefits, and opportunities for long-term growth. For consideration, please submit your resume and anything you would like us to review to hkmjobs@yahoo.com. Please put "Managing Partner - Minneapolis" and your last name in the subject line of the email.

Staff Attorney
Tubman
Please click the link for more information: Staff Attorney Job Posting 040418.doc

Volunteer Opportunity

The Tubman Pro Bono Safety Project is actively recruiting volunteers to join our attorney team! Our Safety Project volunteers are from diverse practice fields and represent low-income survivors of domestic violence at order for protection (OFP) and harassment restraining order (HRO) proceedings in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties.

Legal advocates at domestic abuse agencies refer clients and support the client and the attorney throughout the case. Tubman screens clients for income eligibility and need for representation and gathers case information. Tubman staff attorney provides legal support, case consultation and mentoring. Volunteer attorneys typically spend 10 to 20 hours per case, and are not required to have family law experience. Volunteer Attorneys attend a free training half-day training and represent at least two clients per year. Our next training is coming up on Wednesday, June 5th from 8:30am-12:30pm at Dorsey Whitney in Minneapolis. The invitation to our training is attached, and we are hoping you would be willing send it on to any MABL members who may be interested.

Pro Bono representation can be the deciding factor in whether a victim survivor leaves a relationship and stays away. Unfortunately, access to legal services can be the most difficult to obtain due to its cost. We seek to bridge that gap to help make families and communities safer.

Please let us know if you have any questions or if there’s anything you need me to do to make this opportunity more widely known to your members.
