From Ferguson, Missouri to Minneapolis, Minnesota, the nation has been engaged in an important and ongoing dialogue about community-police trust, the fairness of the criminal justice system, and public safety. Join the ACS Minneapolis-St. Paul Lawyer Chapter, the ACS Madison Lawyer Chapter, the ACS Oregon Lawyer Chapter, and the ACS Washington, DC Lawyer Chapter, along with MABL, for a discussion with Judge Mark Kappelhoff, who participated in the U.S. Justice Department’s civil rights investigation of the Ferguson Police Department before joining the bench.

Judge Kappelhoff will discuss the Ferguson investigation, the findings of that investigation, how the findings of that investigation provide important insights for law enforcement, lawyers, the judiciary, the criminal justice system, and the community on the issues of building police-community trust, addressing issues of bias in the criminal justice system, and ensuring public safety.
